Have you ever herd of a feedlot or know what one looks like? I haven't either until my ealry years as a small time rancher. It is where you take the animals to feed in a lot, make sense. It usually is a setup where you sort animals out and feed then daily to get gain in them. People usually take animals to feed lot to fatten them up before butcher or selling them off. Remember cattle is sold per by the pounds so every pound counts.
This picture here was taken at BFC (Bordon Feed Company) out in Herald, CA. These were 600 lbs calves being ship off to market.
