My daughter did a report on the Gyrfalcon and came across some real nice pictures I would like to share. I don't own these photos.Gyrfalcons are being smuggle out Russia and shipped to the Middle East for falconry. They go for $30,000 to $50,000 on the black market. It reflects the money that is available in the region and the demand for such prize birds. Back in medieval times Gyrfalcons were reserve only for Kings.
Gyrfalcons have three morph colors; grey, black, and white.
Peregrine Falcons are known to be the fasted diving vertically but Gyrfalcons are known to fly faster horizontally.
